The UK scrappage (http://origin.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/AdviceOnBuyingAndSellingAVehicle/DG_177693) scheme which offers a £2000 trade-in against a new car is now drawing to a close.
The scheme is due to end on 31st March 2010, or earlier if allocated funds run out before then.
Strangely, Daihatsu is one of the car manufacturers signed up (http://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing-news/index.php/2010/02/24/scrappage-scheme-enters-the-finishing-straight/) for the final stages of the scheme, even though it's now getting very difficult to find a new Daihatsu for sale in this country. It must be very frustrating for anyone trying to take advantage of the scheme before it closes!
